A young lion escaped from a small roadside zoo in rural Ontario in the 80's or 90's. Still a cub, but not tiny - about the size of a large dog.

A woman was out for a walk with her dog when it started barking and growling like crazy, and out bounds this lion from the woods. She ran home and called 911. Several times. They kept hanging up on her and warning her about making nuisance calls to emergency services. Eventually they got pissed off enough to send someone out there to set her straight.

They arrived to find it sitting on her dock, practicing his big boy roar.

He was safely retrieved by the zoo and the enclosure fortified.

I was really expecting the cops to shoot the baby lion… ugh, I hate the police… I wish I had more reasons to change my mind

I own a dog and one of my biggest fears with regards to her safety is for the police to ever come knocking at my door. The statistics speak for themselves.
