Makes you wonder why Directive 4 was part of Murphy's programming but not Ed209
GroundbreakingGur930 t1_iycwqif wrote
I believe ED209 came out 1st and killed an OCP exec. So Murphy was given the 4th directive "Never oppose an OCP officer".

true. but Jones kept building 209s without updating them. he could have been killed by his own monster

EDIT I guess technically Robocop was part human. I should have made an ED-209 reference instead

As long as these are human-controlled, where a human makes the decision to fire; then I’m good with this. This is similar to allowing police to use firearms, which gives them the ability to engage at a distance instead of fighting with knives, clubs, or hands. A robot can engage in situations that may be too dangerous for a human. That seems good to me.

Police have quite literally used bomb robots carrying grenades to kill suspects for over a decade now (including a well known incident in Dallas where a suspect was killed in a parking garage using one).
This article only has traction because it's in CA and we all know about the conservatives on reddit and their anti-california circle jerk.
