they probably aren't answering your email because the person in charge of emails have more pressing things to do than answering an e-mail complaint about $2. Although they should, they probably wont.

does not make it right but thats probably why you're having a hard time getting the $2 back.
This is why I always use cash for tipping. Happened to me before once, but nothing like yours, like mostly 30-50 cents difference, so I never disputed it.
Edit: As to why they did it, no idea, they probably thought you wouldn't say something.
Hey I mean, end of the day, it's your money, doesn't matter if it was 2 dollars or 1. Hopefully you're able to dispute it successfully, otherwise, do what I do and tip in cash lol.
