Good evening,

My wife has recently changed jobs and was without an insurance for one full month. She was told that COBRA would be able to provide her with coverage until the new insurance through her employer kicks in. Now that she's fully covered, she got bill for the amount of 1,386$ for two months of premiums. My question is, what happens if she decides not to pay that bill?

According to Google, she'll simply be removed/terminated from their list. Which is what we want. But what happens if she ignores that bill? She never used it in that month.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I could not find an answer to this question on Google.

Did she sign up for COBRA, or just get the thing saying "COBRA will cost this much"

if the former, she has to pay her bill

if the latter, nothing to worry about

You had your former and latter reversed, all good now.

When you sign up for it, you have the obligation to pay for it.
