Southbound there is a curve past Walnut-Locust with a speed restriction because the tunnel narrows from 4 tracks to 2. I think its a 15MPH curve then you are practically in the station.

If it's northbound probably a work zone.

It sucks, it takes almost 2 mins longer going southbound to my stop than northbound.

The tunnel narrows from 4 tracks to 2 between those two stations which means the local tracks curve.

Can confirm, lots of sidewalk construction along South St. My ride home across the city took so much longer than usual because we had to crawl past construction vehicles on both sides.
