Fox 29 was in the field the other morning on a weekday and Brauhaus Schmitz was already open at like 8:00. Imagine that will be an option.

I know a lot of people hate them, but both the casinos have sick setups for watching sports and are 24/7. Can also drink for free/tips only.

What do you mean drink for free/tips only? Free drinks when you are on a table?

Calc3 t1_iybcjp3 wrote

Rivers will serve you free drinks if you’re watching sports on the assumption you’re gambling on the sports. Or at least they used to.

Regardless of where you choose to watch, let's hope the USA pressures the not-so-great dutch defense, and not let them control the game too much. Their offense is too good to allow that.

I installed an indoor TV antenna last week and it's working GREAT! I get both Fox and the Spanish channels (plus all the local channels of course) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGN81N2N?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

This is the right answer.

How many people died while building the stadium? How many people had their passports revoked?

Btw, the number of people who died is between 400 and 500, according to CNN and if you count migrant deaths since Qatar got the World Cup, that number is at 6,500.

Saigon2391 t1_iybetkz wrote

Thank you. You have to be pretty thick skull to watch without any indication of morality on your soul knowing thousands people died building those stadiums in a country where human rights are punishable as heinous crimes pushed by corruption and corporatism.

But I am not getting out of bed for day drinking for the fake World Cup shit show (not until the final anyway).

Did you watch USMNT play in the group stage? I've suffered enough, so I'ma take a breather.

theAmericanStranger t1_iyb07ha wrote

Okay, i'll bite. Maybe you're just not experienced in the art of supporting your national team, especially when its not necessarily a favorite. In any case, we are entering elimination stages, where's no place for a lame finals-or-bust mentality. You, sir, wake up Saturday morning and root for our home boys!

porkchameleon t1_iyb1ygx wrote

I’ll tune in at home.

There is only one thing and one thing only that I hate more than xenophobia in general and discrimination based on country of origin in particular: it’s the Dutch.
