Thanks for posting! "Teenie" Harris photos are so important to PGH history. Love to see new (edit: to me) ones.

Whoa, Dracula looks like he's being played by a baby Jordan Peele

What are the odds that someone has a grandparent in this photo? The kids would be in their mid 70s.

I absolutely love Teenie Harris’s slice of life photos. Such a precious Time Capsule of our city.

The officer on the left doesn’t look like he is in the mood for shenanigans. Edit : thanks for the photo. A great little piece of history.

That's the "I saw you and your brother switch masks for more candy" look.

Wish I knew more about what was popular at the time. I can't tell most of these kids' costumes.

This is in 1954, they didn't have color photos back then? --

It's much easier to produce a sharp image in black and white than color, especially working with available light. Also Harris was a press photographer and the pictures would have been printed in black and white.

CMOA took teenie’s artwork without his permission. Not to mention putting i behind the white CMOA paywall. Place is garbage.

I'm sorry you feel that way, Unfortunately I believe that is simply not true. The entire collection is available for free and can be seen here. (Link) No paywall at all.

In addition, several family members have messaged me and commented on prior posts stating that they enjoy the uploads. The reason I upload these photos along with others about Pittsburgh History, is the large volume of photographs. There are close to 100,000 individual pieces in the archives available for people to see. I have fun posting the pictures as they are our history.

Looking at something online is different than in person. You ever seen a rothko online?

Are you under the impression that you could wander in somewhere and look at all these photographs in person prior to CMOA purchasing the collection?

Obviously, because they purchased the collection from his estate after his death. Dead men cannot give permission.
