Hey fine people of Providence. I’d like to start doing Yoga somewhere, preferably near me in the West end (near Nicks on Broadway).
I’ve been doing some basic daily stretches and sun salutations for the past couple of months, but would really love to start getting more into it.
If anyone has some good recommendations for a studio (and specific classes) that are good for beginner’s, please reach out! West Side Yoga is closest to me and has some good reviews, but their website lists virtually every class as being good for beginners, so it’s a bit overwhelming.
I’m not too sure which style of Yoga would be best for me yet, but initially I’d like to find something really simple that focuses on increasing flexibility and breath/body awareness.
I’m 36m if that means anything. Also, if there are studios and/or classes that incorporate meditation, that would be awesome!

I HIGHLY recommend slow flow at West Side Yoga! I’ve been on and off with my yoga practice and I had a super bad foot injury that prevented me from walking for like 6 months. I told the instructors this since I couldn’t really do down dog due to the arch in my foot still healing and they were so welcoming, supportive and made sure the class was perfect for me. This was the first class I tired back since the injury and it felt like a gift to my body! The heat made the stretches and poses feel much deeper and the slow flow was the perfect beginning class since it was focused more on movement and feeling good instead of crazy yoga poses and flows. Also, they have a first month deal for all the classes you want for only $30 so you can always play around with what you like or dislike before buying a membership. They also have dope ass instructors.
