Do folks have access to gigabit service in neighborhoods south of the river? What's the usual fast connection you can get? Thanks for replies.

I'm in chesterfield county not far from the city line and I have access to Verizon fios which has a gigabit option. I don't pay for it because the 300mb speed is more than enough for my needs but it is available

Yes we do. Fios has an address checker, use private browser mode so it doesn't log the address if you are checking multiple.

Fios is the first choice by a mile. Comcast will have better coverage if you can’t get Fios in your spot.

Fios availability can be pretty spotty, but it beats the shit out of Comcast if you end up with both options. Comcast is available more or less everywhere in central VA now with weird spots here or there where it's not.
