My boyfriend and I have been thinking about marriage for a while, and we’ve decided to just go for it now “on paper” and wait until later to have a “real” wedding with guests.

We understand no courthouse around has staff that can “officiate”, so I wanted to reach out and see if anyone had a recommendation for someone who would come to the courthouse (or we could meet them nearby) and sign the marriage license for us.

We don’t need a ceremony, flowers, etc. — truly just hoping to be legally wed for now.

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations! Justin Meadows (instagram: @rva_celebrant) was able to get us in with less than 12 hours notice as we had a really tight deadline for FMLA stuff. He was awesome. It was a no frills, quick ceremony at a very reasonable price. I can’t recommend him enough.

Hannover and Dinwiddie County provide a contact list for civil Marriage Celebrants but I believe they are certified for the state and not just their county. Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, and Mechanicsville don't provide a list like this that I could find when I was looking 2 years ago. Congratulations

County of henrico west government center will do the paperwork, provide a list of offciants.. and they have a whole park with reflecting pond and fountains over there to make it look pretty.

The lady and I just got back from eloping in Pensacola Florida on pie day. Congratulations!
