I recently purchased a 70’s Mercedes convertible and while it’s mostly in great condition and absolutely gorgeous, I feel like I might be in a little over my head long term. In order to avoid flaky/shady buyers with a private sale, and to sell it fast, I’d like to sell it to a dealership around the city, maybe one that specializes in classic cars.

Does anyone have any experience selling a classic here? Any dealerships or avenues you’d recommend?

Thanks!

RVA auto auction, you will have dealers and private buyers bidding and the auction house will do everything to get top dollar. It's also huge they run auctions each week.

I thought they do when for high ticket and classic car sales, but I could be wrong

They do for the classic sale, but that’s months away and honestly I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

Sportscar Workshops used to do consignment sales. Maybe they still do.

Otherwise FB marketplace, CL, any R107 and SL forums.

There isn't a classic car dealer like you would find in larger cities or tourist towns in Richmond.

Call RVA Automotive Group. I've never sold a car to them, but I've bought older/classic cars from them. They're all car enthusiasts and I feel like they'd be willing to buy your car from you.
