Hard to say exactly, but the food is sweeter and not as rich with flavor and spices as Chinese food should be. Whenever me and my Chinese friends went we were always a tad disappointed.

More importantly, however, is that Chengdu has really tasty authentic food - worth a visit at the very least

Yes, they have eggplant fries that are awesome. As far as faves go, I really like their salt & pepper pork lunch special.

Only place in Virginia? Get the duck out of here with this bullshit advertising. There are dozens of places in VA with authentic food. Falls church alone has tons....

It used to be, but unfortunately their cooking style has started to cater to American palates the past couple years. Still tasty but only Chengdu will bring you to tears

Peter Chang's food was pretty bland when I went there. Even if you work for Chengdu, I'm still intrigued.

Sorry brah, this place was pretty ratchet when I ordered. Ketchup-esque butt sauce with a bunch of chilis doesn't constitute Sichuan cuisine but props for the r/hailcorporate post I guess.
