Wow, Maple Ave. is about to get very popular and very congested.

Let’s see how the west end takes to the traffic circles.

City is going to make bank writing speeding tickets for all the traffic detoured to Grove

26

TinyCatFreyja t1_j64n9xk wrote

That would require the city to enforce traffic laws.

I used to work around Libbie/Grove and drove Grove every morning. A few times a year they would go hard on speeders there.

That may be the one area that makes enough of a stink for it to happen.

On a normal day traffic can get backed up here quite terribly.. this is gonna be a nightmare lol

They’ll close the road for 7 months to replace a pipe but won’t take the opportunity put a traffic signal at the intersection of Cary Street Road and Libbie. Classic.

Captain_Tiberius t1_j6618dy wrote

Not sure when it will be installed, but a traffic signal is actually planned at that intersection.

The city should be advertising it for construction bids in the next month or so. If it gets awarded by summer it'd probably be early 2024

I'm glad the city is fixing sewers that's what they should be focused on but oh my God is this going to be a shitshow

Jfc not the one road I take everyday to get to work

crouton45 t1_j652s8y wrote

This will be an absolute disaster. That signal at Grove and TC is already so insufferably slow… and now it’s going to be 10x worse.

Patterson Avenue, here I come

I can't find a proper full size map, but this Dep of Public Utilities PDF has some zoomable images (no real detail) and descriptions that might be useful:

Oh wow that's actually even worse than I thought. Huguenot bridge traffic is going to be epic. And they are staging it through next august? Which means if their life is at all like mine next December?

anaspy t1_j6k1d22 wrote

This is not the final map—it’s already been revised. The closures are the same but the detours are changing.

DeannaZone t1_j67hjrv wrote

Well nevermind doing GasBuddy or GRTC on that route anytime soon...

I take Libbie everyday going home from work, and I live a block or 2 off of it. Hope they establish and alternative route….
