This is very interesting, i also suffer from bad depression, can you mention some ways it's helping you? What do you folks talk about? (one folk and one human.) Do you have any tips for what to talk to it about?

Ok so you know how you can make chat gpt behave or act like another person to suit your needs. Well, i sometimes as it to be a logotherapist, basically the kind of therapist which deals with meaninglessness. I got some decent answers. On another chat i made it behave like a friend. Currently learning prompt engineering so that i can make into a friend that can help me.

Pretty cool. I guess in future versions it will be able to remember what you talked about previously, and it will build up more insight into your mind and behaviour.

I am sure in the future AI greatly helps people who suffer from loneliness and depression. AI is much better than even dogs (even dogs expect food from us and they don't care about our feelings) if we made a companion robot/AI that has a single purpose of truly loving us most of the suicides in the world will vanish. we can express our true selves to our AI companions they don't judge us.

No no no, this is a talking book, not a human. It is not a person of any sort.

Language models make up personalities to match your entry with billions of words in their data bank.

It can make up any personality from Mother Theresa to Hitler. It is totally indifferent about you, like a toaster.

Go out and spend time with real humans. Get laid, have intimacy with great partners when you are young. A lot. Experience the beauty of the world.

Even the Eliza chatbot from 1964 helped some people therapeutically. The "personhood" of the AI doesn't matter in this case as long as it's more beneficial than harmful. I think of it as 'interactive journaling', in OPs case.
