nothing against anyone being excited about the eclipse. its a special moment to see one in person, but the subreddit being bombarded by nothing but eclipse pics drowns out any news that might be posted.

The pictures usually get lots of upvotes and a post makes it near the top of r/all, personally I was under the impression that Sunday was more of an exposure thing

Dunno. I've looked a few times for tools that would let me auto-hide all those posts... but I have never really had luck.

I use old reddit and apollo.

To be fair to the OP, the rules in the sidebar are clear on this:

> SUBMITTING IMAGES & GIFs

> Only allowed on Sundays UTC. Short videos without meaningful audio content qualify as GIFs.
