I don't have the feeling that Musk has ever been Pro-Science. Pro-Elon Musk is about all you're gonna get. Throwing huge sums of money into scientific projects is not necessarily an indication of personal dedication. Sometimes it's just a play for more money and fame.

Idk.. His work with Tesla and SpaceX have kinda established him as one of the best innovators and engineers in modern history. Think he’d be a good guy to use to get us to Mars.
