He makes it nearly unwatchable, imo. I figure this is likely a transplant show from across the pond due to the American entertainment industry's complete lack of originality, but they don't need to have a British host. Seems like there's many other comedic types that would be better suited for that position. Maybe Craig Robinson? He seems desperate enough in his career to do a gameshow.

I’d appreciate it if you’d keep my boy Craig’s name out yo damn mouth ;)

Lol seriously though, I haven’t seen the show yet but I’ll check it out. I’ve never seen or heard of that host either as an American.

Okay... How have I never heard of the highest grossing comedian in the world?! I doubt anyone that I know would recognize that name.

I consider myself as having a healthy obsession with stand up comedy and even enjoy quite of bit of British comedy. One of my all time favorite shows is from the BBC, and I’ve never heard of this guy.

I second what you’re saying, I watch a lot of comedy and I’ve never heard of this guy until he hosted this show. I will admit it’s happened before though, Sebastian Maniscalco was called one of the highest grossing comedians a few years ago, and I’d never heard of the guy.

well... before we judge how this comedian might have escaped your attention, we should probably qualify how rare that is...

which comedians DO you know?

I think he may be bigger in europe, but I saw his password stand up on reddit a few years ago and went down a rabbit hole on him.

It says he was highest grossing in 2012 and looking at the linked article on Wiki, it seems like that is based on live performance sales only. Guessing there were comedians that made more from TV / movie gigs back then.

We watched an episode of it, and then completely forgot about the show.

Every episode I watch I say the guests should be hosting. Did Craig Ferguson turn them down? Who is that schtick for? Why does he keep sliding around on the floor? Was he on a British version of the show?

Look up "Send to all" in YouTube and you will find what I think is his funniest work. He does a bit where he finds a famous person willing to give him their phone and he creates a weird message and sends to everyone in their phone book and then reads back the best replies later in the show.

And yes, he is annoying, but he is also funny. Usually funnier than annoying but not always.

My wife and I have been asking ourselves the same question each episode we watch. WHO IS THST GUY!

Sincerely, People who don’t watch British standup
