He's also been the host of The Price is Right for over 15 years, which is one of those roles that would otherwise be a near automatic nomination at the daytime Emmys if he did submit himself.

Yeah, he's basically been a fixture on television for almost 30 years. Even the various guest spots and one off roles he's had over the years, there's probably been a lot of places he could have been pushing for award recognition if he wanted.
I do wonder what would have happened if he was putting himself in for nominations in the 90s, where you had some absolutely stacked slate of candidates.
He would probably be one of those guys that gets in one year just to recognize him, but Kelsey Grammer had that award locked down for an era.
