Cows know best that winter is a time to ruminate.

I worked in a barn that was half cows, half horses. The cow side was always warm and the horse side was almost always frozen. The heat the cows put out is impressive.

Don't let a previous poster see this. They'll think of all the apartments you could fit in that barn

Musta missed that post. It could certainly hold a lot of apartments, and probably be spot more profitable 😂

I miss milking cows when it’s cold out. The teets kept my hands warm. Plus I didn’t have to deal with people.

I wish I was milking! Sadly just beef and replacement heifers in the barn. I did breed four heifers to start doing the raw milk thing, but I can’t get on a truck. You’d think Agrimark would take me as I’m 6 miles from the Cabot plant, but nope, they are only growing in NY right now from what I’ve been told.

You can sell it straight from the farm with the proper regulations, or labeled "for animals" with no regulations - people love it for their dogs and they'll pay big bucks.

In VT you can sell raw milk completely legally. In the process of setting up stuff to bottle raw and be all inspected.

I’m in marshfield, but honestly most of these government backed barns were all identical.
