I used to struggle mentally when Winter would arrive. Although the season mutes the sounds and color, these photographs are helping me to recognize what I’ve missed all along - beauty comes from many palettes. 🎨 I hope this continues as a series throughout the season. 🤞🏼

The winter light brings out the detail in everything, at least to my eyes.

That’s a great observation! In the warmer months, the abundance of green can blot detail out and hide what’s underneath.

I personally love the muted sounds — it’s so peaceful and quiet when there’s fresh snow.

I’m there with ya! You can become blind to noise and deaf to the lights - all those glowing boxes, a bit too bright.
I had trouble with that previously - the lack of noise and solitude gave my thoughts space to point too many arrows inward, if that makes sense. Now, I feel stifled by the noise everywhere and serve the thoughts by giving them space to roam on blank pages.

Great shot. Always nice to see fellow Fuji shooters in Vermont. I saw this over on the Fujifilm sub also, but figured I’d respond here instead.

Thank you and Yes! Not many of us in Vermont lol

I’m a photography novice but started looking into Fuji camera after seeing these shots. There pretty expensive though. Any recommendations for a starter camera for these types of shots?
Falconlordhank t1_ixe7boo wrote
theres no specific camera ypu need to take pictures like this. look for options with good cheap glass in the focal lengths you want, and dont just go for the highest resolution sensor you can find. larger pixels are better ftmp.

Why the low F stop on a landscape?
Meow_Meow_4_Life t1_ixczzcm wrote
Because it gets the people going!
jcov7 OP t1_ixdh6jq wrote
F stop was at 5.6
pretentiousignoramus t1_ixedrpi wrote
Oh you put 1.4 in the description. Still, pretty low unless you're handheld and didn't want to push the ISO. Personally, I won't shoot landscape lower than F11. The composition and contrast are nice.
