I live near Boston and wanted to do a day trip to somewhere in southern/central VT or NH this week. I did a little bit of cross country skiing in January last year on the Catamount Trail near Killington. Any recommendations for good XC ski spots with adequate snow on the ground?

Prospect Mtn Rt 9 Woodford. Very rustic lodge, all about the trails.

Craftsbury. May be a bit far but it's unparalleled for XC.

I know Craftsbury, I think it's a bit too far to pull off as a day trip, especially in January. I wish northern VT wasn't so far away!
