I was listening to the radio earlier and someone blamed Blair and Brown and said that this whole thing shows we should get rid of human rights laws.

Everything about them wanting to get rid of the Human Rights Act, and people who support it is crazy to me.
Obviously not the same, but it reminds me of the poem/confession from a German man after World War Two. Where he wrote:
"First they came for the Socialists, but I did not speak out because I was no Socialist"
Then it went on through trade unionists, Jews, etc. Until the ending line which was:
"Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me."
Because if the government does get rid of the Human Rights Act so they can treat migrants even worse. What's to stop them treating the average Brit worse?

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 92%. (I'm a bot)
> Home Secretary Suella Braverman has challenged critics to try to "Get rid of me", as she rejected claims she was to blame for dire conditions at a migrant processing centre.
> Ms Braverman said her policies of co-operating with French authorities and sending some asylum seekers to Rwanda would curb Channel crossings.
> A popular MP on the right-wing of her party, Ms Braverman was keen to return as home secretary, but the scale of the challenge facing her is daunting.

This country makes me despair. How do we have a Home Secretary blaming the opposition for the crisis? When the Labour Party haven't been in government since 2010! Her own party have presided over failure after failure.
Not to mention Braverman sending confidential information to a private email. Give it a week and the news will be that material critical to national security was shared.
