Singapore inherited this law from ancient times and it was just never changed.

The weird thing is that man+man = nono, but two women was never an issue.

sure, but my thinking was that Singapore is a family-oriented place, so any threat to the core family would be bad, so how come man+man is bad while women+women is not.

Because the law is from an ancient time where being gay was only socially frowned upon if you were male

I'm not sure I would agree that 1938 constitutes ancient times. Relatively modern history, considering there are still quite a few people alive in Singapore now who've been there since before the law was passed.
