HKU student here: Other protest posters or stickers also get removed fast here if any get applied to the walls.
Article TLDR: Here the students just refused to say who they are ro campus secruity and them not knowing what to do they called the cops.
Will be interesting to see what happens the coming week. Gonna be on campus in 6 hours, will see if more pops up, lot of study whatsapp groups are definitely talking about it.

Will be fine, I don't really expect anything to kick up here, because compared with Mainland Covid measures are quite lax, only need a picture of a Rapid Antigen Test for bars and Clubs and where masks everywhere, that's it

My daughter is a student, not in HKU. Yeah, sounds right, Everyone is careful when and where we discuss what is happening elsewhere. We are a scared and traumatised people, I see and hear tension and fear in the workplace, and this is despite relatively lax COVID restrictions. The last three years has been anything but fine.

The level of paranoia and prickliness towards any criticism especially relating to Xinjiang is interesting. It doesn't show a strong and confident China as Xi and his western apologist would like to portray. It shows a regime that's desperately trying to keep a lid on thisngs and a fear of a spark that would destabilize the state.

And why is that something worth getting the police attention? Got too much time on their hands eh

Right?
Yeah, sure, cops are supposed to respond to all calls, but they’re also supposed to respond to priority calls first. We’re supposed to believe it’s such a quiet night that they were free to rush down to the campus to deal with a couple dudes putting up fliers?

Even since that National Security Law passed, police and judges in Hong Kong has been very busy with putting the protesters behind the jail.
Ppl getting arrest/ jailed because of that law is on news every single freaking day, it is non stop.

There seems to be protests all over the country. Tons of videos of them that just cut when they turn the cell jammers on.

If they were local students they would already be arrested.

Xi and the CCP pretty much guaranteeing the demise of mainland China with its policies. It does benefit the rich developed countries and underdeveloped countries that replace China because China will be left out of worldly affairs and more of the world economy.
The young people have the most to lose and yet again it falls upon them to try change the course of their country to avoid the long march backwards into oblivion.
While the world will have to readjust, the world nonetheless will continue to turn without them. Ultimately it’s for chinas youth to drive this campaign for a brighter future.

The "suspicious" looking people IS the CCP! God can't even commemorate those who were lost to a fire without being arrested? Crazy!

“Police were called when a group of suspicious looking people were spotted committing minor vandalism on a college campus ” is barely worthy of a local newspaper’s police blotter, but when it happens in China, a country of 1.4 billion people, it’s at the top of /r/worldnews lol
