Single stream recycling is basically a myth anyway. Most of it goes into landfills (somewhere in the vicinity of 90%). It’s not a punishment. You have options. Buying canned beverages isn’t a god given right. It’s a choice you make. You can choose to buy your products a different way

That’s just like your opinion man! You can choose not to support it. I like it and will continue to support it because lately there’s been more and more cans on the side of the road because nobody gives a shit. You could also stop buying products that use deposits. Tap water is deposit free, fountain drinks and draught beer are deposit free.

Skappo, consiglios, goodfellas, and tre scalini all get lots of recognition around New Haven. L’Orcia is supposed to be great too but I haven’t been to attest to that yet.

theres an attached parking garage. thats most expensive. there's a separate lot that's a quick walk that's a bit cheaper, and then one street over there's a shitload of private parking businesses that run shuttles back and forth. Theyre not bad especially this time of year because you call them to come get you and they'll preheat your car/clear the snow or frost off, and bring you door to door.

I moved from Worcester to greater Hartford area 2 years ago. Quality of life here in CT is good. I found a comparable job for a significant raise with my cost of living decreasing as well. But CT I still an expensive place to live. Hartford has been improving over the last few years and seems to be attracting more young people. Things like Parkville Market are fun, and bring a community together. Number of breweries in the Hartford/West Hartford region that are worth checking out too. New Park being the best IMO. City Steam doesn’t get the respect it deserves. Their beer may not be the best craft beer in the area but they and Thomas Hooker brewing were the first. They pioneered the CT craft beer scene and still sling some solid beers. Food at city steam is decent too!

My friends 7 week old nearly died 3 weeks ago from rhinovirus. His O2 when they got to childrens was 82%. He was on something like 22 liters per minute of oxygen by high flow nasal cannula to keep his oxygen level up. Spent a week in the hospital half in the PICU. His spit was basically carbonated they pumped him so full of oxygen. Super scary, and both parents are healthcare workers, so it was recognized quickly that he was sick.
