The soil filters the water. Drilling holes as deep as wells will contaminate the ground water aquifers. When a well is drilled a check valve is installed to make sure the water comes out and does not go in.
The idea has merit however. Large ponding basins can be found all over central to southern California. These collect runoff water in artificial ponds for the purpose of recharging the ground water (soaking in). Most of that water is lost to evaporation and there are steps being taken to limit that as well, like floating solar panels to keep the sun off and limit surface area.
When it rains too much in one year, there just isn't enough capture to make up for the several years of not enough rain.

I feel like you have no faith in the faster route option.
I once took a old US postal wagon trail route because the freeway shutdown due to a chemical spill. It was Google's route for saving me 10 hours. It absolutely saved me time. The dirt path with huge ruts and traveling 5mph was certainly faster than sitting still parked on the freeway.

The 'raising 3 kids without A/C not an inconvenience' wasn't convincing?
So your parents were rich assholes too? I'm sorry they found you inconvenient, with or without A/C.
Now mind you I come from oil money. Oklahoma, no A/C even existed when we got the family minerals rights, old oil money. I've seen my fair share of rich assholes.
If Jeff Foxworthy talked about rich assholes instead of rednecks:
If you're complaining about something you don't have when some other people don't have it either, you might be a rich asshole.
If your "need" is a luxury comfort, you might be a rich asshole.
If your children are inconvenient because your wants aren't met, you might be a rich asshole.

No, a super charging station can slower charge a bank of capacitors. No substation necessary. The amount of time it takes to pull out and pull in a fresh car & hook up doubles the real world time, while your active charge is about 12 minutes.
It seems to be designed to pump out 60A at up to 800V.
So a 600A service is pretty common at 480V for commercial buildings (you can get more I'm just saying this is a really common service). A capacitor bank and a good control unit should make light work of it.
Keep in mind doing fast charging is super bad for your batteries. Also at a local grocery store that has a super charger (they advertise) using that feature costs a few more bucks I'm assuming to discourage it, possibly to get you to shop there and wait longer.

No, no you don't.
>You can’t sit in summer sun with a baby for even 12 minutes without A/C…
What kind of rich asshole are you?
I only just got a car that has A/C 2 years ago. I'm a millionaire. Granted that was mostly by choice that I didn't upgrade my 30 year old car, but I still don't have AC on my house. I used to live in Phoenix, AZ., And now live where it still gets 110°F in the summer. I raised 3 kids with no A/C. It wasn't even inconvenient.

Also reposting a reddit story on reddit laundered through a magazine who has financial interest in "good" Apple news seems like the real point is to get me to click that link.

Most diamonds are used as abrasives. They do the hardest work and are discarded.

>they didn’t have a way of recording things
They did though. Not only the same method as any other animals, but they also had at least pictographic writing and tally marking.
A recent discovery shows what we're considered random tally marking of cave art, was probably moon cycles counting from the animals natural reproductive cycle, next to pictures of those animals. Possibly an indication of when and where to hunt for them, aka the good months and near these drawings.
The tally marks line up with animals that still exist. This gives us a lot of insight into the extinct animals pictured.
Keep in mind, if this information is useful to us today, how much more useful it was then. This is also the minimum amount of recording and communication, there likely was more.
