Oh cool. Yeah, and the film plays that for quite a way into the movie...something I liked but can appreciate the old couple walking out.

I don't remember what the marketing for that was like...would that have even been a possibility?

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.
Inb4 they didn't say those exact words!

Seems to me a reasonable estimate. When you only have 2/3 of one of the filmography of the most popular film-makers of the era, and literally thousands of films lost according the archives, I don't doubt that at least half and up to 80% as a reasonable estimate.

Because there's no evidence that it is the case.

How can it secure housing when the people aren't being paid enough to do so?

No chance. Think about it for a second. Has outsourcing improved homelessness in the countries the work is outsourced to? I see no evidence of that being true.

Reply to Will we all be famous in the future? by [deleted]
There are literally thousands of people from the 1800s for whole we could learn quite a bit about (enough to write chapters in books about at very least). But we don't. In fact, there's very successful movie actors from the 1920 that are all but forgotten today.
If the famous of yesterday aren't guaranteed fame now, I doubt the unknown of today have any greater chance of being famous.

I think we're on the border of heading back TO social media via multiple apps that keep you in touch with those you actually care about. No more old highschool buddies and no more algorithms. Look at Discord as a great example of this. Or Matadon (? Spelling? Haven't tried it yet).

Jude Law is one of those "forgotten" greats. Rarely mentioned when someone asks for the best actors, but also regularly kicks arse. Playing opposite Michael Caine in the Sleuth remake was his best, imo, but yeah...never seen him make a mistep.

A lot of the conversations could be much shorter, and the car chase could honestly be completely cut (it was one of the worst car chases I've seen in cinema, sadly), and change the ending.
Yeah, the script needed editing more than post-filming. I LIKED the pacing of it. It was just far too long.

I didn't say horrible, just anywhere near as good as his other roles. Unfortunately for a lot of people it was one of only three roles they'd seen him in.

Hell yes they still have a future. They aren't used as often because of the costs, not because CGI offers better visuals.
