Rubber shrinking was surprising part for me too, I give you that. As you can also see there's some glue residue on right shoe. Sole got mostly separated from canvas

They looked smaller, but did not think much of it. Fully realized what happened when I try to put them on lol. The actual size difference became clear only when I got new pair.

I did wash both. I bought another pair after incident and compared to it.

After a trip where my clothes got really dirty I decided to wash everything in higher temperature. Turned temperature handle to max without even looking what temperature it was at.
