Fair enough, bad example.
You're still missing it. Whether something is "appropriate" or not in a given setting is a matter of opinion. It doesn't automatically mean if someone thinks someone else's behaviour is inappropriate that they will do something about it.
To use your analogy- I don't think it's "appropriate" for people to do 90 on the interstate around here like many people often do. But like you say- do I pull out in front of someone I see flying up the left lane? No, of course not.
Or, back to the eating thing, I personally wouldn't eat anything like durian or another strong smelling thing in public if it's likely to bother other people. I'm considerate, so I don't think it's "appropriate". But again, of course I wouldn't bother somebody enjoying some smelly snack.

Let me ask you- while you didn't bother the person that shit themselves on the train, would you find it "appropriate" to shit oneself on a train or other public transport?

Not really what OP asked.

I can't give a good place but can say they typically take off on the main runway headed east, usually sometimes shortly after 9am on weekdays. Usually it's 9:10-9:20.
Somewhere 3/4 of the way down the runway would be good, since they're well off the ground by the end of the runway.

I guess it wouldn't surprise me much that the tallest mountain in the northeast hasn't seen a reduction in accumulation.
It certainly doesn't stick like it used to at any of the ski resorts in central Vermont (my hometown).

Burlington in particular has increased by 7 degrees. Haven't read into why Burlington is so unique, maybe the lake or geography.
It's a statistical thing, not black and white. Climate change increased the probability and ultimately the severity of last week's weather. There's still a chance it could've happened without all the excess CO2, but it would've been less likely.

Also, snowfall totals aren't necessarily a good metric. Temps around freezing result in more precipitation, but less long term "sticking around" when the temps get above freezing.
(My point being we see plenty of big dumps of snow that usually melt in a few days or a week)

Funny. As someone who only grew up in the late 90's, I can say we had more snow stick around even just 20 years ago. I'd love to see your source for historical snowfall totals.

I get what you're saying, but at the same time there are varying degrees of this and it isn't all inaccurate.
Take the "January thaw" example. Sure, "January thaw"'s happen most years, but they have increased in number and duration.
In Chittenden county we've barely had more than a dozen days below freezing. Ya, I'll complain about the unseasonably warm weather and how it's most likely because of climate change, even if I can't say for sure.

Far more are likely caused by faulty drivers, but that's just because people don't pay attention.
Just because a ton of accidents are caused by faulty drivers doesn't mean we should let safety issues slide on vehicles (especially in a state that salts their roads profusely).

Your comment didn't quite read like that, could've been worded better ("counter insult" is much more clear).

It's not that it "just takes memorization", graduating college is not particularly easy. It's just that college is a specialization in a very specific thing.
That particular thing is unrelated to many everyday things.

Why do people feel the need to use childish names to tear down their opponents? Can't come up with a mature way of getting a point across?

The number of people that think Biden shut down the Keystone XL is funny (or sad).

As the article says, that's standard practice at colleges.
It happened once to my dorm after somebody broke the glass in one of the entry doors.
I never bothered to check, but I imagine this sort of thing was covered in the housing agreement we all had to sign.

Except wind and solar don't provide baseload for us, and won't for the foreseeable future.
Unless we setup some serious offshore wind in the Atlantic, but I'm not sure how far our current grid could carry that power.

Everybody here speeds (unfortunately), but everyone takes the chance at getting pulled over.
Though I will say, at least anecdotally, when I used to commute regularly an hour up and down I89 I typically saw mass/conn/nh plates pulled over. Not so much VT plates. This was state police, but I think they like to play favorites.

No shit "appropriate or not is an opinion".
OP literally asked "is it appropriate to..."
OP did not ask how you personally would respond to somebody bothering you in a public setting in 'merica.
