Businesses all around the city—even the seemingly untouchable “big dogs”—have suffered, continue to suffer and are just trying to make it to the a time when things are hopefully more stable. Short of really rude, bad service or egregious errors, I have more compassion than judgement for the hospitality industry these days. It is still not an easy time.

Bummer that the North Avenue Market didn’t survive.
Station North/Old Goucher has the best nightlife in the city, IMO, for those not into the Fed/Canton/Fells scenes.

Wow. Thanks for considering Pigtown for nightlife!
As bad as Mt. Vernon may have it, our businesses really have it rough. Aside from Bob’s Bar (on the most dangerous intersection in the neighborhood), none of the other bars (the few we have) are open daily. And it’s not their faults…there’s just not enough business or money to go around in Pigtown to justify operating more than 3-4 days. It’s sad. The pandemic hit hard over here.

If you are ok with a more intimate show, check out Old Major in Pigtown. They have smaller performances.

Way better than Pigtown’s attempt at painting Washington Boulevard for traffic calming purposes! Over here, our paint looked faded from the outset and then BGE came and spray painted over much of it. Some large wooden flower boxes were added that have been crashed into and damaged. And everyone is still speeding…

Funny how everyone’s life has changed and adjusted but they somehow think everything is still the same for small businesses. It’s not business as usual! Cut ‘em a break.
