Nice work! 12-B is December 1962. 1994 is correct for the third one. Case solved!

Here is the base from my 1969 Stanley Vacuum Bottle. If you look to the left of the logo in the center, you can see the date code stamp. It’s much smaller and less distinct than the other texts. In this case it is 00369, which is 1969.

Bottle brushes work well. I usually fill with boiling water and a little white vinegar and let it sit for 10-15 min and then scrub with a bottle brush and rinse.

Those definitely sound like odd date codes. Are you able to send me an image of one of your bases?

If you look at the base, you’ll see the “Aladdin Stanley vacuum bottle” logo in the center. Just to the left of that is the date code stamp. Older vacuum bottles have the date stamp in other locations, so check out this GUIDE for more info.

They do. Date codes are stamped on the bottom.

I completely agree. It’s an amazing product and a shame that it all went away and isn’t what it was anymore. Take care of them and they’ll last a several lifetimes.

I grab them when I can find them since they’re not made in the US or of this quality anymore. Sometimes you need more than one if you bring more than one hot thing out to the fish house or camping (coffee and soup for example). I would like to gift a couple to my son when he’s old enough and I always like having spares of a great thing if I can help it. One day I may run one over with the tractor by accident or worse, it will get stolen, and I’ll need a replacement.

I completely agree. They were my favorite brand too until I started hearing from my construction friends that the coveralls started wearing out in 6 months. My boss’ jacket was the nail in the coffin for me. I hear Duluth Trading Company is the way to go now for that type of outer wear. I don’t have any experience with them personally but when I retire my Carhartt I’m making the switch.

Carhartt has fallen in quality. They used to be Union made in the U.S.A. Now they are made wherever. I have a U.S. made winter jacket that is 15 years old and still looks relatively unworn. My boss has the same style and color jacket, but it’s 6 years old and made in Mexico. His is fading and the stitching is coming apart on the cuffs and has a hole wearing in one of the elbows. We both work office jobs.

Wintergreen outer wear. You could stand still in 0F for hours and be completely comfortable. I have friends that have gifted their coats to their children when they got big enough to wear them and they still look like new.

Right!? They have way more plastic too. Plastic isn’t bad when used correctly but it’s usually an indicator of cutting costs. My guess is people weren’t a fan and they had to pivot back to the classic.
