This. AND audit DPW services. No trash pick up for weeks. No recycling pick up for MONTHS. BUT Porter's friend gets special trash clean up service behind her house. I filed a 311 complaint about it. INCUDING video of DPW workers weeping up behind her house after they skipped my part of the alley. I got fined for it. That shit needs an independent audit. I'm not the only one.

Porter is toxic for the communities. EXCEPT maybe Pigtown. She and her friends created a group to take down the community organizations in Violetville. Literally every group doing good in this area is gone. Every time I see a problem and call whatever group USED to handle it I hear the group is done because Porter and her Village of Violetville group trolled them. OR fined them. OR made it too hard to operate. The thrift store for the homeless-closed. Food pantry - closed. Community mediation - moved outside the city. Community defense referrals - gone. Community tool library - gone. I know the same happened in Wilhelm Park. Their entire community association folded. No one wanted to deal with her.

I hope someone ethical runs against her. The damage is already done in a lot of the neighborhoods. BUT a good person could fix it. Maybe.

I agree. I'm in SW Baltimore. It's toxic here. My friends and I did a community pot luck picnic over the weekend. It was fun. BUT we did it at the state park because the attitude of people around the local park is toxic. No one wants to be around here. The vibe is off.

Civil engineer here. I don't know why you're getting downvoted. Some neighborhoods weren't designed with space for trees. The city cuts out a square of concrete to plant a tree. Wilkens Av for example. The tree won't be healthy because it's not enough space for the roots. Not enough water. Unhealthy trees drop more leaves and branches. Dogs go to the bathroom. It smells bad. Sometimes the city does things half assed. Then it's worse than nothing at all. I don't blame people for not wanting a tree in that circumstance.

That's a little crazy. BUT I can see being wary of trees in some places. The right tree in the right place is beautiful AND good for the environment. The wrong tree, or the wrong place can be a disaster. A group came through my neighborhood planting trees in front of people's houses, taking pics for their socials. They acted like when people go to 3rd world countries and give poor people something basic like a bottle of water. AND they treated us like we were all too stupid to know anything. I have trees in my backyard. We had a single tree removed from out front because the roots were getting into the sewer. Planting another tree out front isn't going to save the world. It just fucks up my plumbing.

One house near me has a white mulberry in the side yard. It drops branches and leaves in the gutter. The rats feast on the berries. It's a sticky mess. A native, noninvasive tree would be better.

Unpopular opinion John Bullock is better than 11. Maybe 10 or 9. I like his vibe.

Phylicia Porter is the same as Yitzy. Same nepotism crap. A tiny part of Pig Town where she lives gets great service. Her friends get great service. She never responds to anyone else. Blocks near me went 3 months without recycling pickup. I think she's tied to special interests. Big commercial trucks are out of control here. Key properties are getting truck builds they shouldn't. Companies violate commercial truck routes. ALL. DAY. ALL. NIGHT. The roads are shit because trucks are using residential roads. She has a few super active supporters who troll anyone who criticizes her. It's a bad vibe. I live in her district. Its toxic.

Odette Ramos and Eric Costello have good constituent services. I emailed them for 2 different things. Both helped the same day. I'm in Porter's district. BUT they helped anyway.

I agree this is a failure. BUT I'm with everyone else. I don't want the city to auto bill me for anything. They have a whole office of people just to look at the incorrect water bills. The billing is so bad they literally had a program to hire customer service reps to look at the incorrect bills.
