Reply to iPhone lost in snow by CanSavings8269
Interesting. Snow is less dense than water so I doubt the wetness is a problem at all.
The cold though may make glue or a gasket shrink or more brittle, so that’s a little concern for long term water resistance.
Not sure about cold and the battery. I’ve heard that heat is a battery’s biggest enemy. But certainly cold makes batteries less efficient.
I’d work pretty hard to find it.

Life is pretty fair, in this instance. Because you bought AppleCare+ pointlessly. You were hoping for an unqualified repair.
The AppleCare+ terms state that it does NOT cover:
h) To repair pre-existing conditions of the Covered Equipment if you purchased the Plan after you purchased the Covered Equipment;
So no coverage — unless you choose to lie.

That isn’t fair to the people who buy apple care+ legitimately before they have damage.
You are causing the price to go up for everyone because you are buying insurance as a discount to buy after-the-fact. You are supposed to buy it before anything is wrong, and only use the Apple Care if something happens after that point.

The black listing was done after they realized it was mistakenly shipped — just in case some amoral people might think it’s ok to keep something they didn’t pay for?

While it was charging, what app was using most power?
You can tell on that same page that you sent a partial screenshot of.
Maybe you had an app running that has a bug causing excessive use of gpu or cpu, causing it to heat.

Unless you were trying to charge it in the sunshine on a hot day, and/or while playing a really intensive video game, then something is wrong IMO.
I always have a case on and I have never seen that error.

The sales rep flat out lied to you, or was ignorant.
Either way, he was wrong.
Yes you can charge iPhone 14 with the 5w charger that came with your iPhone X.
It will be slow, but it will work.

Well, how will case manufacturers respond to that?
Guess RebelPhone was ahead of its time.

Apple News definitely wants to prioritize their news stories over your preferences.
Pretty much trash as for as respecting your customizations.

I’m not 100% positive. It MAY create a different backup, even if the name is “iPhone” for both old and new iPhone name. But I wouldn’t take the risk.

Yes you can later reset your phone and restore from iCloud backup.
The danger with iCloud backup is that it may have been overridden by a backup from you new phone. So disable iCloud backup immediately, until you get around to restoring from the old iCloud backup.
