ion is REALLY good. the price point makes it a Sometimes Destination, at least for me, but totally a nice destination for a special valentine's day meal kinda thing.

edit: just feel like i should find a way to say the word "destination" again. destination

hahah i greatly appreciate you, but i'm really not... too worried about a couple of dopey assholes on their little computer clicking the little down button & taking a handful of my precious pretend internet points away from me over Spooky Communism. my concern was promoting the protest, & it got to about nine thousand eyes between yesterday & today. that's a win to me.

i'm not joining the fucking group, i'm participating in an outdoor protest in the name of a specific, very unrelated cause. i don't really care who made the little graphic to promote it. these people don't own the protest - many different groups are participating - and nobody here is secretly getting tricked by spooky commies into joining a cult. get a grip.

edit: how about this - i'm now actually holding my OWN protest, a totally separate one, for the same cause. it's run by me, who is just some local schmo who happens to be upset about police violence. it's going to be located directly next to The Scary Commie Protest. does this make you people feel better? are we okay now?

down with communism, up with commas. got it.

edit: this shit is truly so tiresome. a man was brutally beaten to death by five office officers following a record-breaking year of deaths by cop - personally, that's what concerns me here. nobody is participating in OH MY GOD COMMUNISM by turning out to protest police violence on the green. fucking give it a rest.

yep, that's all a great start! but i'm down with taking these actions to protest the law enforcement culture that facilitated what happened to nichols in the first place. if this act hadn't been caught on a separate camera, it would have gone entirely unaccounted for & unpunished, like so many other instances of police violence.

maybe NOT the chill date you’re looking for, but FYI for others reading: there’s a protest being held at 4:30 today (sunday) at church & chapel in response to the death of tyre nichols. i’d at least say that counts as an “interesting event”.
