I wouldn’t even hit the highway if I lived in Edgewood. I worked on Atwells Ave and live in Warwick. I just took Warwick Ave straight into the city and cut through the neighborhoods of traffic sucked.

10 minutes from the hospital can vary greatly during traffic. I would avoid the east side of the bay as getting over the bridge that’ll be under construction for a year is a horrible commute. The area immediately surrounding the hospital is kind of dicey. As mentioned in a previous comment, the Edgewood community in Cranston is pretty close and is mostly professionals. It’s close to Pawtuxet village, Roger Williams Park and the highway.

I’ve been to Cowesett Inn West Warwick on Thanksgiving in the past. It was pretty generic, but the price was decent. But I do suggest getting Marchetti’s. Last time I ate there we ended up bringing home what felt like 10 lbs in left overs.

I had a close encounter with them at the beginning of September over at the cemetery on church Ave. they’re mostly all talk as long as you don’t get too close.

I live in Conimicut and happily make the cross county trek to the boroughs of the soap factory for the best pizza this side of the Pawtuxet River.

If you’re looking for good pizza at a decent price, try Pizza Nomad in West Warwick. No dine in, just delivery and take out.

Unless it’s a double bubbler.
ghostpepperlover t1_iven8i0 wrote
Absolutely true. When I moved to Florida in 8th grade I asked where the “bubbla” (spelling to emphasize accent) and everyone looked at me like a confused dog. But fun fact, the Double Bubbler was invented by Halsey W Taylor after he noticed workers getting dysentery from water fountains in the factory.

Where did I say I thought democrats were going to win? There’s a huge chance the republicans will take congress. Which leads me back to my Medicaid comment. The previous person recently asked a question about their Medicaid benefits, which is something that the Republicans continue to try to dissolve. I know this because I work in a pharmacy and watch people make life making decisions about their meds or eating and living. I hope that in the future you never have to rely on anything other than what you can earn. If you’re choosing a party solely because they have a better chance of winning, that’s really sad.

Do yourself a favor and google Old Furnace. It’s probably exactly what you’re looking for without having to drive to the mountains

If you’re willing to drive a bit further, Old Furnace Stars Park just over the border into Connecticut is fantastic. There’s a nice hike through the woods and then opens to a pond with a large cliff to with overlooks. And just up the road from Newport in Tiverton is Fort Bardon with the Sins and Flesh trails.

The best part of Benny’s was being able to get quality, hardware, automotive, marine and fishing gear at extremely cheap prices.

I took Amtrak from New London to NYC. Guy next to me had a metro pass, played dumb and got a reduce priced ride. The employee gave him a bunch of verbal lashings and a “don’t do it again” speech.
