I watched Grease and ate pimento cheese and crackers with a couple of seltzers. I am not at all ashamed to know all the words to the songs, and yes, I did sing along.

I’m hoping the new mystery grocery store on Broad will be a Trader Joe’s.

A Rolex is a thing of beauty. My dad bought one while working overseas with the State Department. He was young and grew up desperately poor. He was given a stipend and his CO suggested he spend it on a Rolex since his food and lodging were all paid for. He had never heard of a Rolex. So he bought the Rolex having no idea what level of fine it was until years later. He was about 24 when he bought it and wore it every day until he died at 74. He took it off once while he was working in his vegetable garden and forgot where he’d left it. It was missing for a year. I was playing in the garden the next summer and spotted it sitting on a fence post. He was thrilled and it still worked perfectly. My brother now wears it daily. Edit: I hope you find one you love! May you wear it as long as my dear father did.

I just went there last week for the first time. Some things were more expensive than goodwill but they had some really nice things. Definitely going back.

I love it. How do you make yours? When I make it at home, I do a really simple chicken, chopped egg, celery, mayo, a bit of lemon juice, s&p.

Costco roasted chickens are a great deal, too. Sometimes I buy one and can eat various meals from it for a week. It’s a time saver, too.

I always check the sale meat at Kroger. Awhile back I bought eight packs of organic ground beef for $1/lb. I cooked it all that night a pound at a time and froze it in 1 lb bags. It’s been great for making quick spaghetti, tacos, etc.

I bought eggs and chicken today at aldi. I wasn’t really shopping for chicken, but found two packs of chicken tenders for half price. I cooked them when I got home and shredded it. I made a delicious bowl of chicken salad for dinner tonight and will use the rest in salads or freeze for later. I froze the broth and will pull that out later for soup. A good purchase for $5.

I was there earlier today only because I was so low on gas I was afraid I’d run out if I didn’t stop. Homeless folks at both entrances/exits. Chaotic parking around the gas pumps. I’m always happy to leave there.

I somehow lost my son’s wii when I moved to Richmond. Some nice soul on free cycle offered a replacement so I went to pick that up. Now on the hunt for games. Also doing some meal prep and laundry.

I feel that way about the second floor walkways at Short Pump. You can feel the tiles flex a bit when you walk.

I keep thinking I’m getting a cold or some other crud, but it’s been a week now, and I think maybe it’s just allergies. I’m normally a spring/fall sufferer, but I’ve had the headache, eye crud, and drippy nose like I do with allergies.
