What a stupid headline. All glaciers melt, all the time. It's what they do. Why wouldn't they have said "melts away" or "disappears" or something.

It's pretty damn clear that this photo wouldn't have been possible if the train was moving. Jesus christ, you were patronizing and condescending about something you were completely wrong about, so you double down with this.
What a piece of shit.

So when you say "I read Vancouver, not Victoria..." that isn't really true

There's no ferry from Victoria to Vancouver, nor is there a ferry from Victoria to Port Townsend. They could take the ferry from Swartz Bay to Vancouver, but that turns a 4 hour drive from Victoria to Portland into a 10+ hour journey.

They're asking whether you'll have a car or not. You coming from Texas doesn't really give any context.

So you think taking the ferry from Vancouver Island to Vancouver to see Deception Pass only to then take the limited access ferry back to the Olympic Peninsula makes sense? That turns a 4 hour trip to Portland into a 10+ hour journey.

Coming from Victoria, I'd definitely take the Hood Canal down.

I can't remember, but I saw this earlier this morning and I looked at it quite a bit because I enjoyed the image. Then later on facebook, it was in one of those "sponsored" boxes. Maybe for National Parks, or Visit Olympic Peninsula .org or something.

Well of course. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. From reading the headline you'd have no idea the the entire glacier is gone. Of course it's a major concern. My comment was aimed at the journalism, not questioning climate change.
