Most people identify much more with the Northeast. Especially anywhere east of State College.

NEPA native, I would describe Lancaster as an artsy hipster city with a lot of history. Lancaster County however is known for its rolling hills and farmland, Amish population, rednecks, and charming small towns.

Sorry I don't want my fight or flight instinct triggered by some dipshit who thinks they're hot shit for going 100+

Maybe slow down and you won't have to worry about being in a potentially fatal crash? These things are not out of your control.

Mental health services are pretty decent. Even though they couldn't get me in with psychiatry right away I was able to see a Physician Assistant and get checked out within a month regardless.

Like others said, rural areas are much more underserved. You will likely have to wait a month or two for an initial appointment, a referral will always help speed up the process.

State College, where Penn State is, is a very safe city.

Philly, Pittsburgh, and other cities have more dangerous parts but if you use common sense and dont wander too far off it shouldnt be an issue.

International students dont get the same benefits that native students get like financial aid, even out of state students recieve less aid in most cases.

However third party scholarships are not uncommon, I would do some research and find some for French students studying abroad.

Rural areas have the most poor whites. Crime is more spread out and less population density correlates to lower crime. When you live in a town of 600 everyone is gonna know if you robbed someone

Crime and the psychology of crime are heavily dependent on environmental factors. In a city crime is more common because you can blend in more easy and get away with petty crimes.

However more people outside walking also acts as a crime detterent. Hence why Manhattan and Brooklyn rates are lower because of high pedestrian numbers.
