Un-AMPed link. Yadda-yadda-yadda, AMP bad, Google bad, don't use AMP.

Why though? What is AMP? What's different about your version?

That's a far more even-handed write-up than I was expecting. Most of what I see on Reddit is more like "AMP is evil and Google will use it to sleep with your wife and kick your dog!"

There are fair uses for it. If you can't spend much mobile data but Google doesn't waste it or the site went down for whatever reason (you could still use archive.org) then you are using it for it's intended purpose, which is good, but if you are paranoid in the Web like some people, then I'd recommend staying away from AMP links. In the end, it doesn't really matter, since you are always being tracked in the Internet in some way or another.

Yeah I hate how “uneven” it is when people accurately describe corporate power.

I mean I am limited to 2 gigs of data a month on my phone plan so I will continue using AMP because it saves me money

Am I the only one who finds this eternal anti-AMP crusade more annoying than any of the state evils of AMP?

Seriously guys knock it off before you make everyone start rooting for Google

"Everyone keeps promoting having privacy, so I'm starting to side with the mega-corps more."

Seriously though, I simply provided a non-AMP link and told why. How is this annoying?
