I’ve heard that overseas WIP stuff is horrible, which sucks because I feel like Carhartt, as an iconic American brand, should represent American toughness and quality manufacturing, not shitty American manufacturing

That is exactly what we buy. And last four pairs have been made overseas. The rugged flex are not even worth considering.

It’s not just the overseas stuff. They sold out years ago, have friends in the biz that have confirmed the same. Once they got a taste of the money that could be made catering to this counter culture lifestyle they were like, well.
