What could possible go wrong with a garbage bin? I've got one at my mom's house that we had for 30 years, and it was some cheapo from K Mart or something.

I think your also missing the point that he was also able to repair it with a new lid after 35 years because the company still makes it.

We’ve had several crack around the rim when lifting them, especially when emptying litter boxes. Still looking for a good thin metal one that would be lightweight but strong.
