I stopped buying jeans that aren’t 100% cotton (so, no stretch). They are definitely lasting longer

For some people the opposite is true. It all has to do with the fitting. If you are slightly pulling on some parts when you are walking for instance, stretch could actually make it more durable.

I have Levis 100% and 99% cotton jeans. After a few years they seem to have basically the same durability, the 99% cotton ones were just more comfortable right from the start when new.
