Technology is a continually deflationary industry. The first color TV's sold at retail in 1955 cost $12,000, adjusted for inflation to modern money.

Ya, fair. I would have figured that this was the kind of thing that would be relatively widely accessible, but at that price, it's definitely a bigger purchase than I realized!
