I sold those for a time. They really are bullet proof.

Same. And my grandparents had one which must have been from the 60's. Worked perfectly. Uncle has it now - it's still going.

Any idea on where to buy parts? My hose electrical connections are gone, so now it's a hard floor only vacuum.

Inherited my grandma’s brown one she bought in the 70s. It works fine, but the castors, rubber pieces are starting to show some age, so it’s destined for my holiday cabin. Just bought a brand new one: love it and and expect to have it most of my life.

How does Filter Queen compare to other quality makers such as Rainbow or Miele?

Terribly. One of the issues with this sub is some think because their item is 50 years old and still works, it's great. A terrible 50 year old item is not doing you any favors. Would I want this item from a garage sale to use as a shop/car vacuum? Yep. Would I want this item for my home? Nope.

My mom gave me one when I got married in 1992 and another later because she thought I needed a more “advanced” model. Ha! Both were great!
