I'm an electrician... it's called insulation... not housing. Something that works as intended for 70 years at 1600w saves much more power in the long run than buying an entirely new 1000w unit every 5-10 years. You will come to see how this is true when you get a bit older.

No doubt. I have a 1956 GE Liberator stove that I use daily. Nothing wrong with it other than the clock doesn't work. May not be the most efficient but hot dog, that thing works all the time and every time. Oven is dialed in precisely and even the Sensi-temp burner still works (yes, they had these back in the 50's). 👍😎👍
