Dishwasher Soap Alternative from Previous Post

A few weeks ago there was a post where someone had mentioned a dishwasher repair man telling them a great alternative to dishwasher soap pods. It was low costs and not a generic alternative. They went on to say that since using his recommendation the dishwasher had been runner great for years. I meant to save the post but mistakenly did not.

Does anyone recall this post or what the recommendation was?

I don't remember the post, but I buy my tenants Cascade Complete powder, Jet dry rinse aid, and Finish dishwasher salt. It's an inexpensive combination, cleans and drys excellently, I don't have to repair the common complaints or issues with pods.

I also use the same combo at home. Only need to fill the salt reservoir and rinse aid quarterly, or as needed, and a half teaspoon of detergent in the prewash, 1-1.5 tsps of detergent in the main wash.

Use a powder dishwashing detergent. Any of them will do. Cascade and Finish both work the best from what I can find in Canada, but we had to switch to Seventh Gen because those don't play well with our greywater system. For municipal water though, have at er. If you have hard water and no softener I recommend using something like Lemi-Shine too or at least a glug of vinegar.

Well, go on with your bad self. I posted an amazon link as courtesy to non-Sams people. Please post your spreadsheet of every dishwasher pod ever on a $/pod basis. This is not the cheapest subreddit, it is BIFL, and I post the best pod based on testing that I am aware of. Now if you have cost/quality data, please post it.

The pods are all the same, buy the cheapest one and throw some white vinegar in the rinse aid. The link you posted ain't it. I appreciate the YouTube you posted, that was good info.
