I think the issue is the change in quality in the past 5 years prior to you buying yours. From what I've heard. I do not have one, but would love one. Also more pics pls

I've heard the same, although I'm kind of on the fence about the complaints. They shifted to using leather with visible scars and defects and that ticked a bunch of people off. They see it as paying the same price for a lower quality item. Including those marks doesn't affect the strength or durability of the leather, so to my mind it both adds uniqueness and results in less waste.
I'm just happy that I never have to buy a satchel again. This thing is part of my life story now and I can always count on it.
