What are toe socks like? When it's not cold I tend to go bare foot simply cause I find normal socks to be confining.
I've been looking into Japanese [Tabi socks] (https://www.amazon.ca/Pairs-Socks-Split-Women-Supplies/dp/B08L3KF73X/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=Tabi%2Bsocks&link_code=qs&qid=1672169941&sourceid=Mozilla-search&sr=8-5&th=1) myself.

I really like the merino blend tabi socks from Earth runners.

Found some black ones on Amazon. Quite expensive for a 2 pack though I imagine quality socks should cost more.

Insanely comfortable as long as you don't have an unusual foot shape. Very good temperature control, perfect sweat wicking, no hot spots/irritation... I use them as my liner sock for backpacking, and a thicker one for running.

ooh yeah. foot shape would be a thing to consider. Thanks, I'll find some nice toe socks next time I have some money to spare and get a few.

Injinji is commonly recommended, though reviews indicate their new wool line doesn't seem to be very durable- I'd try one of their standard blends.
There's an art to getting them on properly as well, lol. The smallest toe is sort of difficult and I find it helps to do a sort of pinch-and-pull from the inside before you get the heel on

I'm able to spread out my toes fairly wide and move my big one interdependently, so I imagine that sort of movement can help.
