Yes, those people are called "children"
Source: grew up here and hated it, later realized how much everywhere else also sucks

Yeah, probably a good 90% of "Connecticut sucks" sentiment is driven by a delusion that anywhere else doesn't have almost all of the same problems, and a lot of others on top.
The other 10% is the weather.

Every time someone posts a "CT is in the top 5 most desirable places to live" article here and people are like "How?" Generally tells you enough about their life experience to conclude they've lived here their whole lives.
There are exceptions of course, it's not a good fit for everyone but it suits me just fine

Also, I badmouth the weather but from, say, May 1 to October 31, there's almost no place I'd rather be than the CT shoreline. I love our warm months. Gets a little hot and muggy sometimes sure, but it's beautiful.

Grew up in Illinois. Prefer CT and the weather here, though I have to admit, Chicagoland all the way down to central Illinois tend to be friendlier. The first thing anyone here said to me, on Christmas Eve as I was moving in, was, “Don’t let your dogs shit all over my yard!” Lol, I had baggies for cleaning up and everything. Thought it was hilarious.

Haha, oh my god yes, whenever I leave the northeast I have to make a conscious effort to be friendlier to people or I feel like I come off as a jerk just by acting CT-normally. Glad you can tolerate us enough to like it here. ☺️

Thats an odd way to say never happy.

Oh no I've changed my tune, I actually like it here now. I just needed that perspective. It's definitely not an exciting place to live in as a child, but now I see how parents might view it as an ideal place to raise a family for that same reason

Liked growing up here and still living here and enjoy it in my 30s. Most close friends moved away so we see each other once or twice a year if that but you make more friends if you're lonely enough. I'm just a big fan of Connecticut. Except the car tax.

I agree. With not wanting a family, I find it hard to want to go back.

You still grew up well enough to call yourself "hymen_destroyer"

But do you feel bad about destroying something? Like if your name was racism_destroyer that would be OK I guess.

Same dude, we have it very nice here. This is probably the safest place I have ever lived.

Agreed, I moved to Connecticut at age 7 from the Nashville area and also hated it.
