I did chuckle a bit when hayes said her husband carries a 13rnd revolver. But its very common for any politician not to have much knowledge in firearms

I mean, it's her husbands gun not hers. She isn't trying to inauthentically claim that she is personally into guns, but is saying that she is sympathetic and empathetic to gun owners.

I think she might have gotten confused with what her husband used to carry and what he carries now. I remember the days when all cops would carry were revolvers, the good old days

It's a classic alt-right tactic, getting you to debate about something other than whatever you were originally talking about. Most adults know what an assault rifle is, even if they don't know the particulars about whether it's this weapon with a few letters and a number or this other weapon with letters and a number is an assault rifle.
